A Dutch Treat!

Welcome to the Travel Show Part Deux!

We also visited the Ajanta Caves the next day, which were just as spectacular as the Ellora Caves. Take a look for yourself:

Our first sight of the caves

aja2.jpg (18482 bytes)

27 caves in all spread over a kilometer- pretty tough on the legs!

aja3.jpg (26516 bytes)

When you think of the fact that these are man-made caves, you
gotta take off you hat to the men that made them!

aja7.jpg (16422 bytes)

Some of the caves have paintings and others have sculptures, like this one

aja8.jpg (21635 bytes)

You're not allowed to take snaps of the paintings inside the caves
so I took one of a painting outside though it was in terrible shape

aja4.jpg (16605 bytes)

We got lost on the way back and almost ran out of petrol too
Got to see a bit of the countryside, though!

That's Susan standing on the porch of Sourav's lovely
bungalow

aja9.jpg (20295 bytes) aja6.jpg (21563 bytes)

A couple of snaps showing Ahmednagar Fort- quite a magnificent specimen of a fort

I thought you might appreciate a change of locality, so if you click here, you can join us on our tour of Europe!
