Welcome to my homepage. On this site you'll find my website as it existed from 1999-2003, before the first meltdown forced my free webhosting site to change its revenue generation model, and promptly took my site down:-( I had a look at it recently and thought it presented an interesting slice of my personal history. The tagline I had given my site then was "An attempt to chronicle the life and times of an unknown Indian through text, sound and pictures at the turn of the Millennium." Incidentally, I found that out when I looked up the 2001 Index that Google has put up to celebrate 10 years of its existence. Unfortunately, the Internet Archive did not deem my history worth preserving, so to set right that grievous error, I present Cherian's World, warts and all... After all, if Google can do it, why not I:-) This site also contains a couple of blogs that I started last month after I bought some webspace on Yahoo. One contains my thoughts related to my professional interest; I am an analyst on India-US relations at a leading think-tank, and the other one is an effort to what I call "spreading the love"; passing along tidbits about personal productivity and all things Internet that I have picked up over the fifteen years that I have been on the World Wide Web. As I call myself on my social networking sites, I'm a Strategic Analyst by day and Internet Evangelist by night. Though both terms are equally meaningless, they are very nutshell-like.
